CALGARY, May 15 /CNW/ - Bonterra Oil & Gas Ltd. ("Bonterra" or "the
company") (www.bonterraenergy.com) (TSX: BNE) greatly regrets to confirm a
fatality of one of its wellsite operators at a location in the Pembina Field
in West Central Alberta near Drayton Valley.
    The accident occurred at approximately 11:15 a.m. on May 14, 2009.
Emergency response procedures were activated immediately and the RCMP and
Occupational Health and Safety were notified. Investigations are ongoing and
Bonterra will be cooperating and participating in these investigations.
    "This is a tragic event and our hearts go out to the operator's family,
friends, and Bonterra employees who witnessed or are affected by this tragic
